NOX padel rackets in Australia — how the range works
NOX is a Spanish brand and the one on our wall most defined by the players who use it. Its top frames are named for them: AT10 for Agustín Tapia; ML10 for Miguel Lamperti, the Argentine they call The Wall, who retired from the tour in 2026; EA10 for Edu Alonso, the young Spaniard NOX signed in 2025 as one of the brand's pillars. Below them sits NextGen, the NFA Series named for the NOX Future Academy where the brand's prospects train, in 12K carbon. And NOX make the Nerbo, the FIP-approved official ball of the A1 Padel professional circuit.
12K or 18K — the question everyone asks
The AT10 Genius comes in two versions with the same recommended retail price, same mould, same shape, same 38mm profile. The 12K Alum Xtrem is the racket Tapia actually plays: a harder HR3 Black EVA core and a stiffer, flattened weave, for a drier, more explosive frame with more free power on the smash. The 18K Alum runs a multi-layer Black EVA, and NOX rate its touch intermediate against the 12K's intermediate-hard — the same racket made kinder. Neither is an upgrade on the other. The K number counts filaments in a carbon tow; it changes the feel of the top sheet, not how the racket plays — the core, shape and balance do that. Anyone telling you 18K is automatically better is selling you a number. The AT10 Genius Attack moves the same platform to a diamond head, and is the most demanding racket NOX make.
The rest of the range
The ML10 Ventus Control 3K is Lamperti's round-headed control frame, flagged arm-friendly — Pulse System side rubbers to cut vibration, a low-density HR3 Color core, and comfort that scores well on every site that rates it. The EA10 Ventus Hybrid 12K Xtrem is Alonso's teardrop for the advanced all-court player who refuses to specialise. The NextGen Pro Hybrid 12K is the intermediate step into NOX: 12K carbon and a multi-density core in a shape that keeps the sweet spot central.
What NOX's technology names mean
HR3 is NOX's high-density black EVA — the firm core. MLD is the multi-layer EVA that runs different densities through the frame — the kinder one. Alum means the carbon fibre is aluminised, which NOX say helps the racket hold its character through temperature changes; Xtrem is a flattened weave with less fibre waviness for stiffness. Dual Spin is the rough finish, a 3D texture over a sandblasted bath. Pulse System is a set of side rubbers that cut the vibration reaching your hand; EOS Tunnel is aerodynamic perforation; Custom Grip lets you change the handle shape; and new for 2026, Weight Balance is a set of 2g and 4g counterweights that let you move the balance toward the head or the hand yourself.
