Burleigh Heads has been the obvious gap on the Gold Coast padel map — a suburb full of people who surf at six and want somewhere to play at seven, with the nearest courts at Robina or Currumbin. PadlX is about to fix that, and the second PadlX site at Arundel follows a month later.

Getting gear in Burleigh
Pacific Fair in Broadbeach is about ten minutes up the Gold Coast Highway from Burleigh, and that is where our free click-and-collect counter is — Priceline Pharmacy, Shop 81. Order between 9am and 5pm on a weekday and it is ready within three hours where the stock is on hand; collect seven days during centre hours; return across the same counter if it is not right. There is no showroom and no demo rackets, and we say so rather than pretend.
Four outdoor courts by the coast means sun, salt air and a hot car. A frame protector before the first hit, an overgrip you actually change, and a wristband in summer — Queensland humidity is the number one reason a grip goes slick. Prices below are live from our shelf.
