Who this racket suits

The Genius made light and soft. Agustín Tapia's teardrop shape and 12K Alum Xtrem carbon face, built at 350–360g around a low-density HR3 White EVA core — the most comfortable and manoeuvrable racket in the Genius range, and the only one NOX rate as soft.

How it plays. Quick and forgiving. Padelful's review of the 2026 version scored it a perfect 10 for manoeuvrability and 9.1 for sweet spot, with easy defence and a racket that is always ready at the net. The trade-off is consistent across reviewers and owners: limited smash power and less bite than the firmer Genius models — "lacks power" was the most common owner comment, and one owner felt it softened further with use.

What's new for 2027. Around 5g lighter than the 2026 (now 350–360g), with the feel moving from medium-soft to soft. The mould is redesigned for manoeuvrability, and it gains NOX's VCS anti-vibration layer bonded inside the handle (NOX claim up to 56% less impact reaching the wrist than the previous generation). Weight Balance lets you add 2g or 4g weights, up to 8g, if you want more head weight back. Same HR3 White EVA core and 12K Alum Xtrem face.

Where it sits. The Ventus Hybrid 12K Lite is NOX's other 350–360g teardrop, on the firmer MLD core, and the Genius 18K Alum is the full-weight all-court Genius. For a light, comfortable racket in stock now, compare the round adidas Cross It Light and the Babolat Air Vertuo 2.6.

Is this the racket for you?

  • Yes if you have elbow or shoulder niggles but still want a premium carbon frame, you are a lighter player, or you win at the net with reflexes rather than smashes.
  • No if you are a first-timer: NOX class it as an advanced racket, so it suits improvers with decent technique. If you want more weight and pop with the same face, see the Genius 12K Alum Xtrem.

Specifications from NOX's 2027 product page and the catalogue supplied by the Australian distributor, checked 9 Oct 2026; some retailers still list the 2026 weight of 355–365g. Manufacturer weights vary by around ±5–10g. Review findings are from Padelful's review of the 2026 Genius 12K Xtrem Lite, which shares this core and face; independent reviews of the 2027 version had not been published when this page was written.
