Padel on the Sunshine Coast — the best indoor courts in Queensland, and where to get your gear

Forest Glen has quietly become the indoor padel capital of the state: four courts open at Ace Padel Clubs and seven more opening next door at Padelground. Here is every Sunshine Coast venue, open or coming, checked against each one's own booking page.

Australian Padel Shop · Venue list checked 15 September 2026 · Know something we have wrong? Tell us and we will fix it

The Sunshine Coast came to padel later than Brisbane and the Gold Coast and then did something neither of them had: built indoor. Every court on the coast is under a roof, which in Queensland summer is not a luxury. It also means the Sunshine Coast is where Brisbane players drive to when it rains.

Open right now

Ace Padel Clubs — Forest Glen

Shed 2, 5 Cedarbrook Drive, Forest Glen QLD 4556. Four indoor courts, open 5am to 11pm seven days, booked through Playtomic. Private and group coaching from a team of four European coaches — Tomas, the head coach, is Lithuanian; Gaizka is Basque — plus social padel sessions for players who do not have a four to bring. Cafe, bar, viewing lounges, showers and lockers, and a pro shop that carries rackets, balls, grips, shoes and bags.

Two things make Ace unusual. The coaching bench is deeper than anywhere else in Queensland, and they run demo rackets at $20 a game, which makes Forest Glen one of the very few places in the state where you can properly hit with a frame before buying it. If you are anywhere between Caloundra and Noosa and choosing a racket, do that first.

Opening now

Padelground — Forest Glen

84 Sandalwood Lane, Forest Glen QLD 4556, a few hundred metres from Ace. Seven indoor courts including one of the first singles courts in Australia, AI replay cameras, a group training studio, sauna, cold plunge, cafe and licensed bar — a $4 million, 3,200 square metre build by Brendon and Cristy Levenson, the founders of Jetts 24 Hour Fitness. Founder memberships opened on 17 August and the venue's own site says September 2026, so by the time you read this it is either open or days away. Check padelground.com.au for the day.

Noosa and Gympie have nothing open or announced. Everything on the coast sits at Forest Glen, with Baringa to come — which puts the courts roughly in the middle of the region, twenty minutes from Maroochydore and Caloundra and forty from Noosa.

Eleven indoor courts within a few hundred metres of each other — fourteen once Baringa lands — is more indoor padel than Brisbane and the Gold Coast have between them until Arundel opens in November. It is the reason this page exists on its own rather than as a footnote to Brisbane.

Getting coached at one of these clubs? Ask your coach for a discount code. Most of the coaches we work with have one: you get 5% off anything you buy with it, and your coach is paid 5% of what you spend — so the person who taught you actually gets something back when you take their advice on a racket. If your coach hasn't been issued a code yet, ask them to email hello@australianpadelshop.com and we will set one up. It takes five minutes, costs them nothing, and there is no stock to hold. Full details on the coaches and community page.

Playing competitively from the Sunshine Coast

No Sunshine Coast tournament is published yet — Ace advertises competitions generically and Padelground says they are planned. The one real event in the state is padel at the Pan Pacific Masters Games, 13–15 November 2026 at KDV Sport in Carrara on the Gold Coast: men's, women's and mixed doubles in 35+, 45+ and 55+ brackets, open entry, no ranking required. Entries close 16 October 2026. Two hours down the highway, and worth it if you have been playing socially for six months and wondered whether you are ready.

Which brands to buy where

Worth knowing before you go shopping, because nobody else will tell you.

Every club pro shop buys through its own wholesale account, which means it goes deep on one or two brands rather than wide across the market. Which brands depends entirely on the club — around Australia you will find adidas, Bullpadel, Head, Wilson and StarVie clubs, and plenty that do not publish what they carry at all.

If the brand you want is the one on your club's wall, buy it there. You get to pick the racket up and hit with it before you pay, and no website can compete with that.

We range the five that most club shops don't: Babolat, NOX, Siux, Tecnifibre and Dunlop — with the manufacturer's full specification published on every frame, so you can compare shape, weight, balance, core and face material properly instead of guessing.

Between a club pro shop and this site a player can get to more or less any racket made. Start wherever the brand you want lives.

Getting padel gear on the Sunshine Coast

Ace has a pro shop and Padelground will have one. Beyond those two, the Sunshine Coast has no padel retail. We are an online shop run out of Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, which for the Sunshine Coast means:

There is no showroom and there are no demo rackets at our end — Ace's $20-a-game demo programme is the honest answer to "can I try it first", and we would rather you used it than bought blind.

Coming to padel from tennis?

Padel vs tennis covers what carries over and what you have to unlearn — four minutes, worth it before your first session at Forest Glen.

Coaching on the Sunshine Coast?

We run a referral programme for coaches and social organisers: your player gets 5% off and you are paid 5% of what they spend, tracked automatically and reconciled monthly. Nothing to hold, nothing to sell, and it sits comfortably alongside a club pro shop because we range the brands most club shops do not. Details on the coaches and community page.
