This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it. Australian Padel Shop is a trading name of Markey Group Investments Pty Ltd, ABN 57 670 386 893, and we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you ordered.
- When you pay: payment is processed by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you create an account: your login details and order history.
- When you subscribe: your email address, and only if you opt in.
- When you write a review or contact us: what you send us.
- When you browse: device and usage information, such as pages viewed, your browser and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Why we collect it
To process, deliver and support your order (including click & collect, returns and warranty claims), to answer your questions, to prevent fraud, to meet our legal and tax obligations, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it and, only with your consent, to send you marketing.
Who we share it with
Only the businesses we need to run the store:
- Shopify, which hosts the store and checkout
- our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal, and any buy-now-pay-later provider you choose at checkout)
- Australia Post, to deliver your parcel
- Klaviyo, our email platform, if you subscribe
- Judge.me, which emails you a review request after a purchase and shows product reviews
- Google, for site analytics and advertising measurement
- the brand's Australian distributor, only for a warranty claim you ask us to make
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and the European Union. We do not sell your personal information.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails if you have opted in. There are no pre-ticked boxes, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe that we act on straight away.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working, to remember your preferences, to measure how the site performs and to measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but the cart will not work properly without them.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to support your purchase and to meet our legal obligations. Australian tax law requires us to keep business records for five years. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No online service can promise perfect security, but payment details never touch our systems.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep by law. Email hello@australianpadelshop.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
Shopify
Shopify processes information to run the store and checkout, and for some features (such as Shop Pay) it is responsible for that information itself. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy for how Shopify uses it.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, email hello@australianpadelshop.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
