Padel in Brisbane — every court open now, what is opening next, and how to get gear by tomorrow

Brisbane has two places to play padel today, two more opening in October, and a couple more announced. This is the full list, checked against each venue's own booking page, plus the honest answer on where to buy a racket in a city with almost no padel retail.

Australian Padel Shop · Venue list checked 15 September 2026 · Know something we have wrong? Tell us and we will fix it

For a capital city of two and a half million people, Brisbane has been slow to get padel courts. The Gap opened first and carried the whole city for a long time; the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast then overtook it on indoor courts. That is changing fast this spring — October alone should add eight courts across two venues — so this page is dated and we re-check it rather than leaving it to rot.

Courts open right now

Padel Brisbane — The Gap

The Gap Health & Racquet Club, 200 Settlement Rd, The Gap QLD 4061. Four floodlit outdoor courts, and Brisbane's first padel club. Open 7am–10pm on weekdays and 7am–9pm at weekends, booked through the Matchi app. Private and group coaching, bookable social sessions for players without a regular four, and a pro shop on site. If you are learning padel in Brisbane, this is where most people start. Phone (07) 2141 9061.

Gizmo Courts — Underwood

51 Kingston Rd, Underwood QLD 4119, inside the Area 51 entertainment complex. Padel alongside pickleball, open 9am–8pm daily and booked through Roller. The venue does not publish its court count — directories list two outdoor padel courts, which is our best information and not the venue's own figure. The southside option, and the closest thing to a Logan court until Meadowbrook opens. Phone 07 4351 5151.

Opening in October

Padel Brisbane — Landers Pocket, Brisbane Airport

40 The Circuit, Brisbane Airport QLD 4008, in the Landers Pocket precinct next to the DFO. Four outdoor courts run by the same operator as The Gap. The precinct's own site says padel is "ready for action this October"; one directory already lists it as operating, which looks premature. Expect Matchi bookings like The Gap. The precinct has a brewery, a distillery, mini golf and driving bays, which tells you the crowd it is built for.

Padel Logan — Meadowbrook

Meadowbrook Golf Club, 2–22 Golf Course Drive, Meadowbrook QLD 4131. Four championship courts, "coming October 2026" on the venue's own site — it was originally announced for September and has slipped a month. Court, coach and social bookings already have live pages on padellogan.com.au, which is usually a sign a date is real. Driving range, mini golf and a beer garden on the same site. Phone 07 3299 6653.

Every court in Brisbane is outdoor until MATCH opens. On a wet Brisbane afternoon the nearest indoor padel is Ace Padel Clubs at Forest Glen on the Sunshine Coast, about an hour north on the Bruce Highway, or House of Pickle at Currumbin Waters, about an hour and a quarter south.

Getting coached at one of these clubs? Ask your coach for a discount code. Most of the coaches we work with have one: you get 5% off anything you buy with it, and your coach is paid 5% of what you spend — so the person who taught you actually gets something back when you take their advice on a racket. If your coach hasn't been issued a code yet, ask them to email hello@australianpadelshop.com and we will set one up. It takes five minutes, costs them nothing, and there is no stock to hold. Full details on the coaches and community page.

Playing competitively from Brisbane

There is no Brisbane tournament calendar yet. The most accessible real event in the state is padel at the Pan Pacific Masters Games, 13–15 November 2026 at KDV Sport in Carrara on the Gold Coast — men's, women's and mixed doubles in 35+, 45+ and 55+ brackets, open entry, no ranking required. Entries close 16 October 2026. It is an hour down the M1 and it is the tournament most Brisbane players will actually be able to enter.

Which brands to buy where

Worth knowing before you go shopping, because nobody else will tell you.

Every club pro shop buys through its own wholesale account, which means it goes deep on one or two brands rather than wide across the market. Which brands depends entirely on the club — around Australia you will find adidas, Bullpadel, Head, Wilson and StarVie clubs, and plenty that do not publish what they carry at all.

If the brand you want is the one on your club's wall, buy it there. You get to pick the racket up and hit with it before you pay, and no website can compete with that.

We range the five that most club shops don't: Babolat, NOX, Siux, Tecnifibre and Dunlop — with the manufacturer's full specification published on every frame, so you can compare shape, weight, balance, core and face material properly instead of guessing.

Between a club pro shop and this site a player can get to more or less any racket made. Start wherever the brand you want lives.

Getting padel gear in Brisbane

Brisbane has almost no padel retail: one club pro shop at The Gap and the sports chains, which carry a couple of models at best. We are an online shop run out of Broadbeach on the Gold Coast, which for Brisbane means this:

There is no showroom and there are no demo rackets. If you want to hit with a frame before you buy it, The Gap will lend or hire you one at a social session; do that first, then come to us knowing what you like.

What to buy before your first Brisbane session

Once a club has lent you a racket twice and you are going regularly, these are the three things worth owning. Prices below are live from our shelf.

A racket that suits a beginner — round or hybrid head, soft core, under 365g. Spend $140 to $250, and read what a padel racket costs in Australia for what each band actually buys.

Balls, an overgrip and a frame protector. Brisbane's courts are all outdoor, so the protector goes on before your first hit — the walls eat naked frames, and so does a hot car boot.

Coming to padel from tennis?

Most Brisbane players are — The Gap is a tennis club first. The racket is shorter and heavier than it looks, the ball is softer, the walls are in play and the serve is underarm. Padel vs tennis covers what carries over and what you have to unlearn.

Coaching in Brisbane?

We run a referral programme for coaches and social organisers: your player gets 5% off and you are paid 5% of what they spend, tracked automatically and reconciled monthly. Nothing to hold, nothing to sell. Details on the coaches and community page.
