NOX EA10 Ventus Hybrid 12K Xtrem 2027 Padel Racket (Edu Alonso)

Edu Alonso's signature racket — a teardrop all-rounder for the player who attacks and defends in the same point and doesn't want to choose. Alonso plays alongside his NOX team-mate Aimar Goñi.

How it plays. Responsive and honest. Testing the full 2027 NOX range, the reviewer at the4Set ranked it the best racket in the collection for defence — "what you do with the arm is what the ball does" — and second-best for volleys. On the 2026 version, which shares the core, face and weight, Padelful found it quick at the net with a big sweet spot (9.2) and clean bandejas and víboras. The trade-off in both: there's little free power, and ball exit from defence is modest, so it rewards a player who generates their own pace with good contact.

What's new for 2027. NOX say the mould has been redesigned for more control and stability. It gains their VCS anti-vibration layer bonded inside the handle (NOX claim up to 56% less impact reaching the wrist than the previous generation) and Weight Balance — 2g and 4g weights that add up to 8g, new to the Ventus line. Shape, MLD Black EVA core, 12K Xtrem face and weight are unchanged; the4Set's blind test found the 2026 and 2027 very hard to tell apart, so this is an evolution, not a reinvention. NOX rate the feel medium-hard.

Where it sits. The 2026 EA10 Ventus Hybrid 12K Xtrem, with the same core, face and weight, is in stock now. The Ventus Hybrid 12K Lite is the lighter teardrop in the line, and Miguel Lamperti's Ventus Control 3K is the round control option. In NOX's Genius range, the Genius 18K Alum is the closest all-court teardrop.

Is this the racket for you?

• Yes if you are an advanced all-rounder on either side of the court who wants precision and feel over raw power.
• No if you want free power: Aimar Goñi's Ventus Attack 12K Xtrem is the same family with a diamond head and more weight up top.
