Racquet Club is the third permanent site for a group that already runs Sydney's Moore Park club and Canberra's Fyshwick centre, and by court count Robina is the biggest of the three. It was built with QIC Real Estate, the owner of Robina Town Centre, on 6,842 square metres at the edge of the centre, so you can play at six in the morning, shower, and be at the shops or the office by eight. Founder Darren McMullen's line at the opening was that it should feel "more like a club than a court" — bar, cafe, terrace and music alongside the thirteen courts. For anyone in Robina, Varsity Lakes, Mudgeeraba, Merrimac or Burleigh Waters, this is now the closest padel by a distance.

One correction worth making because it is repeated elsewhere: the courts are open-air, not indoor. An early preview called them indoor; the operator and its booking page do not. If you need a roof, the Gold Coast's indoor courts are at Currumbin Waters now and Arundel from December.
Booking a court and what it costs
Everything runs through Playtomic. Download the app (or use playtomic.com), search for Gold Coast Racquet Club, pick a court and a time, and pay your share. Playtomic splits the court fee between the players you add, so you pay a quarter each rather than one person carrying the booking. If you are short of players, Playtomic's open-match feature lets you join a game that needs a fourth — a good way in if you have moved to the coast and do not know anyone who plays yet.
Racquet Club does not publish its court-hire prices outside the app, and they vary by time of day, so we will not guess at them here — open Playtomic, pick your slot and the price shows before you pay. Peak is evenings and weekend mornings, as everywhere.
Membership. Racquet Club runs a group membership, monthly or annual, whose headline benefit is 10% off your share of court hire — at every Racquet Club location on the annual plan, at your home club on the monthly one — plus a club tee and a bottle for annual members. Those are the group's published terms; check the Robina listing in Playtomic for anything local. Whether it pays depends on how often you play: at one game a week, a year of 10% discounts covers a modest annual fee and not much more, so it is a buy for twice-a-week players and a maybe for everyone else.
Playing here for the first time
You need nothing but shoes and clothes you can move in. Rackets are available to hire and balls come with the court, so a first session costs you your share of the court and nothing else. Wear court shoes if you have them — running shoes grip wrongly on artificial turf and padel is sideways movement — but any flat trainer gets you through a first game. Bring water; the courts are outdoors and a Gold Coast afternoon on the turf is hot. Arrive ten minutes early for a first booking so you can find the court and warm up, and expect to be on court for 60 or 90 minutes depending on the slot you booked.
Coaching runs across every level, from beginner group sessions to private lessons, and the club lists social competitions and community events. At its other clubs the group runs weeknight beginner classes and a “padel and pizza” social night; check the Robina club's Playtomic listing for the current timetable here. Getting there and parking
The club is on the Robina Town Centre site at Lot 23 Robina Town Centre Drive, with its own free parking. By car it is just off Robina Parkway, about 15 minutes from Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise and 10 from Burleigh. Robina train station is a short walk across the centre, with buses from the Robina interchange, so it is one of the few padel venues on the coast you can reach without a car. Allow extra time for a Saturday-morning booking — the centre car parks fill, and the club's own spaces go first.

Racquet Club has its own pro shop, and if the brand you want is on its wall, buy it there — you get to hit with it first, and no website beats that. We range seven brands, most of which club shops do not (adidas, Babolat, NOX, Siux, Tecnifibre, Dunlop, Hirostar), and we are ten minutes up Robina Parkway and the Gold Coast Highway at Pacific Fair in Broadbeach. Free click and collect from the Priceline Pharmacy counter, ready within 3 hours (usually within the hour) during trading hours, 7 days a week, where the stock is on hand, and returns across the same counter.
