adidas Metalbone Team 2026 Padel Racket

The adidas Metalbone Team 2026 is the way into the Metalbone family: the same diamond mould, octagonal carbon frame and Low Poly heart as the racket Ale Galán plays, with a fiberglass face and adidas's soft EVA core in place of the aluminised carbon and the pro-level stiffness. adidas rate it “advanced, habitual use”; we would put it a notch lower — it is the diamond for an improving player who wants attacking shape without an unforgiving face.

What fiberglass does here. It is the most flexible fibre in adidas's range, so the face gives more on contact: more ball release from the back of the court, a softer feel, and a wider margin on off-centre hits than any carbon Metalbone. The trade is a lower power ceiling on a full-speed smash — the frame flexes where a 16K face would not. The Spin Blade Gritt surface is the sand-textured finish (rather than the decal on the carbon models), which is the grippier of the two.

What it does not have. adidas's 2026 spec sheet does not list the Weight & Balance System or the Power Groove rail on the Team. It plays at its listed 360–375g with no screws to add or remove. It does ship with the Metalbone protector tape.

Is this the racket for you?

• Yes if you are an intermediate who likes to attack, you want the Metalbone look and a head-heavy diamond, and comfort matters more than the last 10% of smash speed. On price and profile it sits with the Dunlop FX Team and the Tecnifibre Bomba Speed.
• No if you are a genuine advanced attacker — the Metalbone Carbon is $170 more for a carbon face and is the better long-term buy — or if you are a beginner, where the round, even-balanced Drive is easier to learn on.
