Every open padel court on the Gold Coast is south of the Nerang River and, bar one, outdoor. Everything being built is the opposite: north, and under a roof. If you live in Southport, Arundel, Parkwood, Helensvale, Coomera or Oxenford, your padel is coming to you — this is the state of it as of mid-September.

This will be the first proper indoor padel centre on the Gold Coast — the one indoor court at Currumbin does not really count — and eight courts under one roof makes it the biggest venue on the coast by a court. Ten-metre ceilings matter: lobs are part of the game, and low-roofed conversions kill them.
Announced, no date
| Venue | Where | What is planned | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Padhaus | Molendinar | Eight indoor courts to a European standard, coaching, tournaments, cafe, pro shop; co-founders Paulo Coelho and Vanessa Pascual | Announced for late 2026; no street address or website published yet |
| Parkwood Padel Club | Parkwood Village | Eight courts — five indoor doubles, one indoor singles, two outdoor doubles — inside a $300 million redevelopment of Parkwood Village | Announced; no opening date |
| Icon Padel GC | Coomera | Seven padel and three pickleball courts, cafe, bar, pro shop | Announced; holding site at padelcoomera.com, no date |
Add those up and the northern Gold Coast is looking at thirty-one padel courts, twenty-two of them indoor, from four operators — if all of them land. Construction dates move; we will keep this page honest rather than optimistic.
Where to play from the north right now
| Venue | Drive from Southport | Courts | Book via |
|---|---|---|---|
| Padel Gold Coast, Carrara | About 15 min | 6 floodlit outdoor, 5:30am–10pm | Matchi |
| Racquet Club, Robina | About 20 min | 7 open-air, 5am–11pm | Playtomic |
| House of Pickle, Currumbin Waters | About 35 min | 1 indoor | PodPlay |
If you need a roof today, the honest answer is Currumbin's single court or the four indoor courts at Ace Padel Clubs in Forest Glen on the Sunshine Coast, about an hour and a half north on the M1 — which is the trip a lot of northern Gold Coast players make on a wet Saturday.
