Padel in Currumbin & Tweed Heads — House of Pickle and the Southern Gold Coast

South of Burleigh the Gold Coast has one padel court: an indoor one at House of Pickle in Currumbin Waters. Tweed Heads, Kingscliff and the Northern Rivers have none at all. Here is what that one court offers, and what is coming.

House of Pickle is a pickleball venue first — the group runs Darling Harbour, Port Melbourne and Albion Park — and the padel court at Currumbin is a single court bolted on to three indoor pickleball courts. That sounds like a footnote until it rains, or until it is 35 degrees at four in the afternoon, at which point it is the only padel court on the Gold Coast with a roof over it. Until Arundel opens in November, that is a real distinction.

One court means it books out. If you want a regular slot, book the week ahead; the Open Play format is the easier way in if you do not have a four.

Tweed Heads, Kingscliff and the Northern Rivers

We searched for anything over the border — open, opening or announced — and found nothing public in Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, Murwillumbah, Ballina, Lismore or Byron Bay. The Byron hinterland has three private residential courts, built by a court company for homeowners, which are not bookable. Tribe has a Byron Bay club announced with no site or date. For everyone from Tweed to Byron, Currumbin Waters is the nearest court, then Robina and Carrara twenty minutes further north.

The next padel south of here is The Town Padel at Coffs Harbour, about three and a half hours down the Pacific Highway.

Coming to the southern Gold Coast

PadlX Burleigh Heads — four outdoor courts at 80 Kortum Drive, opening October 2026 — is fifteen minutes north of Currumbin and will be the first multi-court venue south of Robina. Nothing else is announced for the southern coast.

Getting gear in Currumbin and the Tweed

Our free click-and-collect counter is at Priceline Pharmacy, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Broadbeach — about twenty minutes up the Gold Coast Highway from Currumbin and half an hour from Tweed Heads. Order between 9am and 5pm on a weekday and it is ready within three hours where the stock is on hand; returns across the same counter. Posting is the same price either side of the border: same-day dispatch on orders before 1pm AEST on a business day, free over $99, and the Tweed is next day more often than not.
