Babolat Counter Viper 2.6 2026 Padel Racket

The Babolat Counter Viper 2.6 is the round racket in Babolat's Viper family: 365g (355–375g) with a 270mm head-heavy balance, a 3K carbon face, Babolat's X-EVA core and a carbon frame. Babolat pitch it at counter-punchers who put precision first and want extra power from the carbon, and say the round shape and wide sweet spot help placement and building the point. It is a firm, demanding round racket rather than a soft beginner's one.

How it plays. Padelful rates it 8.6/10 (April 2026): control 10, sweet spot 9.1, manoeuvrability 8.4, power 8.1 and rebound 7.4. Its write-up praises a huge sweet spot, stable defensive blocks and a controlled bandeja and víbora, and lists a hard feel that demands timing, less speed in quick exchanges and little free power. padel.how scores it 78/100 (September 2026): control and spin 8.5, and a power ceiling of 8, high for a round racket, against comfort 6.5. It calls it precise, firm and stable, but physically demanding and less forgiving near the frame.

What changed. padel.how calls the 2.6 an incremental update to the 2025 Counter Viper: slightly more elastic and less dry, with a somewhat larger usable area. Vibrabsorb System² places SMAC elastomers in the carbon, the core and the handle, with foam in the core. 3D Spin+ combines raised patterns with a rough finish, the Holes Pattern System spaces the drilling, and the Smart Buttcap adjusts or removes the strap. Babolat call the core X-EVA; retailers describe three EVA layers, firmer outside and softer in the middle.

Where it sits. In the Viper family, the Viper Juan Lebrón 3.0 is the power diamond and the Technical Viper Soft 3.0 the softer one.
