The strip of tape that stops your racket frame turning into a chipped mess. Black with a white NOX logo — NOX pitch it as the discreet option, and it hides scuffs better than clear does.
Padel rackets get hit — the wall, the floor, your partner's frame. Almost all of that damage lands on the top edge of the head, and almost all of it is preventable. A frame protector is a self-adhesive strip that follows the contour of the head and takes the impact instead of the paint and the carbon underneath. At a fraction of the price of a racket, it is the cheapest insurance in the sport.
NOX use 3M adhesive tape, which is the part that actually matters — a protector that lifts at the edges after a fortnight is worse than none at all. It covers the full contour of the frame. NOX state it fits their own rackets; in practice the profile suits most standard padel frames, but check yours rather than take our word for it.
Fit it to a clean, dry frame and work around from one side of the head to the other, pressing as you go. Replace it when it starts lifting, or once it has taken a serious hit.
