The short wristband — the one that stops sweat reaching your grip, without the bulk of a jumbo.
What it's actually for. A wristband isn't a fashion item on a padel court, it's grip maintenance. Sweat running down your forearm onto the handle is what turns a good overgrip slick in one session. A band at the wrist intercepts it. In a Gold Coast summer that's the difference between an overgrip lasting six sessions and lasting two.
Short or jumbo. This is the standard width. The Terry Jumbo is the wider one — more absorbent, more coverage up the forearm, and warmer to wear. If you sweat heavily or play long matches, the jumbo earns its extra couple of dollars. If you find a big band gets in the way of your wrist action on the volley, this is the one.
Composition. 93.9% polyamide, 6.1% elastodiene — a synthetic blend rather than cotton towelling, which wicks faster and dries between sessions rather than staying damp in the bag.
