Drive 2026 Padel Racket — Blue

The adidas Drive 2026 is adidas's entry racket, and the only one on our wall with the three-stripes for under $200. Round head, even balance, a fibreglass face over the EVA Soft Performance core and a big 519cm² hitting area — everything a first racket should be, from the brand most new players already know. This listing is the Blue colourway; the Black is the same racket in the other finish.

How it actually plays. Three testers, one message. Padel Racket Lab (8.0/10 — forgiveness 8.6, control 8.5, comfort 8.3, sweet spot 8.3, power 6.2) call it “a sensible, confidence-building choice for beginner players” and warn that the feedback is muted and you will outgrow it. PadelRacketReviews score it 70/100 with value at 83, the highest single mark. Padelful's panel is the harshest (6.1 for the Black, 6.0 for the Blue — manoeuvrability 6.9, power 5.9–6.2) and the quote to remember is theirs: “If you want easy finishing power, this is not that racket.” It is a racket for learning to hit the ball cleanly, not for winning points from the back.

Where it sits against the other beginner rackets we sell. The Babolat Counter Origin is lighter (345–365g) and a fraction cheaper; the Dunlop FX Start is a hybrid shape with a little more reach. The Drive is the heaviest of the three at 360–375g, which gives it more stability on the volley and slightly slower hands. Choose by which brand you want in your hand — none of the three is the wrong answer for a first year of padel.

What changed for 2026. Nothing structural: the 2026 Drive carries the same round shape, fibreglass face, core and 519cm² face as the 2025 Drive 3.4. New colourways and product codes only. adidas do not fit the Drive with the Weight & Balance screws — that is a Metalbone and Adipower feature.

Is this the racket for you?

• Yes if you are new to padel or playing casually, want a forgiving round frame at a sensible price, and would rather have a brand you trust than the last word in performance. Also a good club or holiday-house spare.
• No if you already play regularly and are chasing power or a crisper feel — the first step up in the adidas range is the Metalbone CTRL, and the best all-round intermediate frames we sell sit in the intermediate collection.
